Ethan Kaplan

Assistant Professor of Economics, University of Maryland College Park

Ethan Kaplan is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland at College Park. He focuses on political economy, labor economics, and new microeconomic empirical approaches to macroeconomics. He studied economics at UC Berkeley, receiving his PhD in 2005. He received his M.A. in Development Economics from Stanford University in 1999 and his B.A. in History from UC Berkeley in 1992. He has also held positions at the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University and at the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association. Ethan was recently awarded a grant from the Institute for New Economic Thinking.
